Witek Hewanicki
Witek completed his B.A. in Architecture at the University of Portsmouth in 2009. He was employed during his year of professional practice by Foggo Associates in London. Returning to Portsmouth to undertake Diploma Studies, Witek took the opportunity of the Erasmus Exchange Programme to study in Vienna, Austria at the ‘Technische Universitat’, where he was tutored by Professor Will Alsop. In his final year he has chosen to focus on; Architecture, Culture and Identity. Witek's current studies focus on the varying identities and human relationship with time. By studying differing aspects of; ‘Time, tide and rhythm’ he will present his findings in various media such as; poetry, art pieces, artefacts and supporting documents. Witek is also an experimental artist and photographer with a particular interest in 'wall art'. He has produced a number of commissions for: private clients, retail owners, the University and the City Council of Portsmouth. In his first year at University, Witek founded the Wall Art Society and also currated a wall art exhibition at the University's School of Art. Additionally Witek is a year representative and a student mentor at the University.
